Sigi (please don’t call her by her given name, Sigrid!) is one of the agency’s native Bavarians. You won’t catch Sigi sporting a dirndl in the office or notice a Bavarian accent peaking through when you talk with her, but she’s fluent in the Bavarian language and will be happy to chat with you in it if you know it!
Shortly after completing her certified translator degree at Fremdsprachen Institut München, Sigi realized that while she loved languages, being a translator wasn’t her cup of tea. So, after taking some time to explore her options while traveling around England and Spain — and, yes, using her language skills for her own benefit! — Sigi joined an events-planning agency where she managed a major German auto manufacturer’s global events. It was in this role that Sigi’s ability to focus and thrive while chaos swirls around her first shined.
In 2013, Sigi joined Leinhäuser Language Services and, in so doing, united her love of languages and understanding of the translation profession with her events-planning prowess.
“I love interacting with clients and providing those special, personal touches not every agency delivers.”
At Leinhäuser, Sigi is part of the client relationship management (CRM) team, serves as a service partner for new clients, is often the first contact for prospective clients, organizes all of the agency’s client meetings and events, and contributes to online marketing programs – all roles perfect for a multilingual, highly organized extrovert! “Working in CRM means every day offers fresh challenges and opportunities to connect prospects and clients with the right services and language experts within the agency,” notes Sigi.
Outside of work, Sigi is a voracious reader, especially of mystery and detective novels, and a devotee of true-crime podcasts. She also enjoys live theater, a passion she shares with her teenage daughter.
Since Sigi knows how everything works at Leinhäuser and is incredibly efficient, new employees, seasoned colleagues, and clients all know they can turn to her for assistance and direction, whether they’re asking her in English, Spanish, German, or even Bavarian.
