Kristiane Wehrmann

Kristiane’s passion for travel and languages were ignited by her polyglot mother, who spoke English and French to her and, as a Lufthansa employee, enabled the family to travel around Europe and even to Africa.

Kristiane pursued her affinity for languages and learning about other cultures by earning a master of arts in French linguistics and literature at the University of Hamburg. Before entering the language service provider industry, Kristiane merged her affinities with an appreciation of her hometown and its history by leading German-, English-, and French-language tours of the Hamburg city hall.

For over two decades, Kristiane worked at an international translation company where she managed multi-faceted projects, supported key accounts that required DTP services in multiple languages, and grew client acquisitions. Kristiane then moved to an agency that specialized in advertising and marketing clients, where she was in charge of managing proofreading projects for PR agency clients.

In October 2021, Kristiane joined Leinhäuser and uses her wealth of experience to benefit clients and colleagues while pursuing the linguistic activities she most enjoys. Kristiane manages key accounts, proofreads texts in German, English and French, and helps to develop Leinhäuser’s next generation of professionals as a talent manager.

“I find my work varied and exciting. Proofreading texts is a lot of fun because I love fixing spelling and grammatical errors and making texts sing.”

For the past two years, Kristiane has conducted German conversation courses for adult immigrants at Sprachbrücke Hamburg. When she is not working or volunteering, you’ll find her practicing yoga or Pilates, swimming, taking in a performance of the Hamburg Ballet or engaging in her favorite activity: meeting up with friends to try out new restaurants. To these friends, she is simply known as “our living Michelin Guide.”
