Johannes Bartl

Johannes took a few detours before joining the world of translation. His first passion was dance and he attended ballet school throughout his childhood and teen years. Having decided against a dancing career, upon receiving his Matura, Austria’s secondary school diploma, he traveled around Portugal, Spain, and across Latin America. Through his contact with the cultures and people of these different regions, he discovered his fascination with the world of language.

Once back home in Austria, Johannes dedicated himself to translation and earned a Magister (equivalent to a master’s degree) from the Institute of Translation Studies in Innsbruck.

Johannes likes to get to the bottom of things and resolve complicated issues.

Johannes was with Macklin for six years before joining Leinhäuser Language Services as part of the merger of the two firms at the end of 2018. As a translator and project manager, at Leinhäuser, Johannes focuses on key accounts, editing, and DTP.

In addition to his linguistic prowess, Johannes is fascinated by the technical side of things, which is why from Day One at Leinhäuser, he’s been a member of the Tech Help team, providing his colleagues with advice and assistance whenever the need arises.

When not working, Johannes enjoys spending time with his family, attending concerts, exploring nature by foot or mountain bike, and birdwatching.
