Vera Mayr

Languages always came easily to Vera and from a young age she knew she wanted to pursue language arts. Since Italian struck her as the most beautiful language, Vera began studying it in the ninth grade. When it came to mastering Italian, she had the advantage of having studied Latin as her first foreign language. Vera is also fluent in English.

Vera’s passion for the Italian language led her to Rome where she worked on a translation project for the Italian Ministry of Justice while studying for her translation degree. After completing her studies as a translator specializing in law at the Sprachen and Dolmetscher Institute Munich (SDI) and passing the Bavarian State Examination, Vera earned a Bachelor of Arts from the SDI Munich International University of Applied Sciences. She is a publicly appointed and sworn translator for the Italian language.

Vera’s fluency and understanding of Italian culture are so exceptional, colleagues on the Italian Team (all Italian by birth), refer to her as an “honorary Italian.

Vera joined Leinhäuser Language Services in 2012. Working remotely from her home in Augsburg, she serves a wide range of clients across all sectors and industries, with a focus on MITTELSTAND companies and marketing agencies. As part of Leinhäuser’s Italian team, Vera also translates from Italian into German and proofreads and manages translations into Italian.

Her passions outside of work include soccer, but her hometown loyalties have proven stronger than her love of all things Italian, and most weekends you’ll find her cheering on FC Augsburg.

Vera’s love affair with the Eternal City is still burning bright. And, after a forced pause due to the pandemic, Vera plans to resume her annual pilgrimages to her favorite city to indulge in the la dolce vita and visit with her friends who live there.
