Growing up outside of Milan, Giulia enjoyed learning English and French, but her fascination with languages ignited with German classes in high school. While classmates sought refuge in familiar Romance languages, Giulia found the challenge of German, with its highly structured grammar rules, fun. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Theories and Techniques of Interlingual Mediation, and a Master of Arts in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Genoa.
While pursuing her graduate degree, Giulia participated in the Erasmus student exchange program and studied for six months at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. Her love of the language and the city’s famous Gemütlichkeit (friendly atmosphere), made her realize that Munich was the place for her. So, upon completing her M.A., Giulia returned to Munich to intern at a language agency and learn the basics of project management and translation reviews.
In 2019, Giulia joined Leinhäuser and focused primarily on translations of English and German into Italian, as a member of the Italian team. Since becoming an account manager in 2021, Giulia supports Mittelstand, product marketing, marketing, and public relations clients with adaptations for their multi-language projects, and specializes in subtitling, voice-overs, and transcriptions, as a member of the Audio-Video team.
“Account management can be unpredictable; that’s what keeps it dynamic and interesting. I’m always facing new challenges and wouldn’t want it any other way!”
If you happen to spot Giulia on the S-Bahn commuting to the office, she’ll almost certainly have headphones on, listening to playlists to get her day off to the right start. Her musical tastes truly span all genres, so she could be listening to Taylor Swift followed by Sido, and then gothic metal! In her spare time, Giulia enjoys swimming for the “sense of freedom and calmness” it provides, traveling to new destinations, and returning home to Italy to visit with family and friends.
