Stephanie started learning French at 11 years old and fell in love with the language during student exchanges to La Réunion, France. Her growing interest in foreign languages guided her to add three more to her repertoire, starting with English in high school (Gymnasium).
Stephanie earned a Bachelor of Arts in translation of English, French, and Portuguese, and a Master of Arts in translation of French and Portuguese, from the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz’s Faculty of Translation Studies, Linguistics, and Cultural Studies (FTSK) in Germersheim. Stephanie is a sworn translator for French and Portuguese.
While an undergraduate, Stephanie participated in two Erasmus student exchange programs; at NOVA University Lisbon in Portugal and at the University of Lille in France. Since her fascination with Sweden had persisted since she was a child and fan of Astrid Lindgren’s books and movies, Stephanie also started studying Swedish while in Lille.
“At Leinhäuser, I have interesting clients, exciting texts, nice colleagues, and a relaxed friendly atmosphere I can feel even in my home office!”
Upon graduating from FTSK in 2013, Stephanie joined Macklin translation service (which merged with Leinhäuser in 2019), where she focused on account management. Since early 2023, Stephanie has been supporting a range of clients with translations from English, French, and Portuguese into German, along with editing and proofreading services. She also assists colleagues with account management, as needed.
Stephanie mostly works from her home office outside of Munich, but still supports 1. FC Kaiserslautern of Rhineland-Palatinate, where she grew up. She and her husband, who hails from Brazil, are raising their two sons in a bilingual German-Portuguese household. As often as possible, the family visits Brazil where Stephanie delights in the country’s great weather, good mood, and authentic caipirinhas and pão de queijo (baked cheese rolls).
