When Eileen began learning her second foreign language, Latin, in the seventh grade, she fell in love with studying languages. She so enjoyed the experience, she added French and Spanish to her course load.
Not surprisingly, Eileen went on to earn bachelor’s and master’s degrees in translation, with a strong focus on cross-cultural studies, at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz’s Faculty of Translation Studies, Linguistics, and Cultural Studies (FTSK) in Germersheim.
Upon graduating, she began her career at a language service provider (LSP) that specializes in technical documentation, where she provided medical technology sector clients with a full repertoire of multi-lingual services, including translations, reviews, and DTP. Eileen then joined an LSP that focuses on advertising industry clients, where she primarily supported a client in the luxury watches sector with its texts ranging from operating instructions for individual watches to marketing materials and sales texts for use in boutiques and catalogues. Eileen devised project management and process optimizations that created efficiencies and are still in use today.
In October 2021, Eileen joined Leinhäuser so she could do what she does best and most enjoys: manage intricate multi-language projects for clients across multiple industries.
“I always like to learn new things and challenge myself, and that enables me to support clients and tackle complex assignments.”
Eileen works from her home office in Lüneburg in the north of Germany.
Growing up with the Harry Potter books ignited Eileen’s love of fantasy literature, which continues to this day. She might not be able to recite incantations taught at Hogwarts, but with her fluent English, Spanish, mother tongue of German, and Latin (key to understanding all Romance languages), and her working knowledge of French, Eileen is able to fully integrate into local life and culture when she travels … and that’s pretty magical.
