Daniel has a bilingual road behind him. Born in Germany and raised in the United States, he now lives back in Europe. He decided rather early on that he’d allow his first mother tongue to play a deeper role in his life, even going so far as to get a degree in German Studies at UC Davis. After that, he tacked on a graduate degree in Literary Translation Studies in Upstate New York. It was during this time that he began taking his first steps toward becoming an editor, working as an Editorial and Marketing Assistant at a publishing house that focused on translated literature into English.
In his role as Editor here at Leinhäuser, Daniel works closely together with translators and writers to achieve the customer’s desired effect in a text.
In his spare time, Daniel decelerates his rather hectic, digital life through analog photography.
Instead of taking hundreds of photos, he takes maybe two or three and then waits a number of days before getting to see the result. But he also spends his free time in other creative ways, namely by writing fiction or by getting involved in art installation projects.
